Homemade Fertilizer
Composting Mixture
You need is a pillow case, compost and some kelp.
Fill 1/4th of the pillow case with compost and kelp and place it in a 5 gallon pail full of water. Secure the ends of the pillow case to the rim so that it does not fall into the water. Let it sit for three to five days. The mix should be stirred once a day gently.
The color of the water will change to brown and will start to smell. When the water turns dark brown, remove the pillow case and fill a sprayer with up to two gallons of water and 1/4th gallon of compost from the bucket.
Now, spray it onto the lawn or garden. A sweeping motion for applying the mixture is preferred. Always remember to lightly water your garden or lawn after applying the compost.
Beer Lawn Fertilizer
Beer, is there anything it can't do?. You can mix other items with beer make the beer beneficial for your lawn.
To make fertilizer from beer for your garden or lawn, you take one can of beer, one can of soda, ½ cup of ordinary liquid dish wash soap, ½ cup of ammonia and ½ cup of mouthwash.
Mix it all together and spray it on your garden/.lawn with preferably. It is best to apply this fertilizer in early morning or later in the evening.
Water the lawn/garden after applying this fertilizer.
If you live in a place with a hot climate, use this fertilizer once every three weeks. The beer helps microbes convert the food matter in the soil in the form of nutrition needed for plants..
Pet Safe Fertilizer
Vinegar - Use a mixture of two parts of boiling water and one part of vinegar and spray it on the weeds. For those tough to get rid of weeds, you should repeatedly use this solution. If you want to add some potency to the mix add clove oil or lemon.
Vinegar is available in different strengths - 5% (regular), 10% (pickling) and 20%. 5% or 10% vinegar is recommended, as 20% can be harmful to the plants you want to keep.
Plain Boiling Water - Boiling water should only be poured over the weeds.
Make sure that the area does not have any other plant, as boiling water is capable of killing any plant. Spread cornmeal in the area where the weeds were killed. This will prevent the weeds from coming back.
Sugar and Salt - can also act as pet safe weed killers. Add a small quantity of sugar to the base of the weeds. To keep the pets away from the sugar add some chili pepper.
Adding salt makes the soil unsuitable for the growth of plants.A solution of one gallon water, one gallon bleach, 1/4 teaspoon dish soap is a great homemade weed killer that is pet safe.

How do I get my dog to stop chewing things around the house?
My dog is a male, 8 months old and his breed is Great Pyranese and Border Collie cross. He has chewed the drywall on our walls, a corner off a blanket and pillow we had on the couch and door frames. I do have a couple of toys for him but I guess they are not helping. Does anyone have any tips on how to get him to stop or any homemade dog toys?
Definetly some raw bones. They will satisfy his chewing needs and why would he want to chew on drywall after a real bone.
